When most people think crime ridden neighborhoods, they imagine ghettos and inner city drug infested blocks. But I live in a pretty rich neighborhood and crime is a real problem here.

We have a lot of brazen criminals who roam the streets at night. Neighbors post their security feeds on facebook and believe me, these are not the kind of people who get scared if you catch them at your doorstep. They'd be more likely to attack you for opening the door or threatening to call the police than they are to run away.

Personally I'd feel safer knowing that I can shoot them for trespassing or breaking into my home. But most of my neighbors would feel safer if they knew these criminals didn't have guns. So guns help you sleep safer at night is not true for everyone or even more most people.

They have opted to hire private security to roam the nights because the police is ridiculously useless.
