Falling sales and surveys suggest Europeans, in particular, are repelled by him.
No, that is not factual. Analysis of the markets in Europe cause one to draw an entirely different conclusion, which one source describes like this:
"While anti-Musk sentiment is a real and vocal drag, it's more of an amplifier than the primary cause, exacerbating competitive pressures in a market where buyers prioritize practicality, integration, and value over brand hype. Analysts estimate Musk-related backlash accounts for 5-10% of the damage, but structural market shifts explain the bulk." This is correct, IMO. Much more important is the fact that there is a great deal more competition, Europe is buying from a large selection of competitors which wasn't present a couple years ago: BYD Seal, BMW ix3, VW ID.4. Also, each of these performs poorly when it comes to range, but range anxiety isn't a think there like it is here -- so, even though the BMW has a range of 285 miles vs. Tesla's Model Y at 455 miles -- the BMW can still be attracting competition.
I can't really find any evidence that the case of the drop in market more than just people trying other products. There is some anti-Trump hatred as there is in the US: They have irrational fools just as we do.
Europe has a well-established history of finding tolerance for far more unsavory leadership than Musk. They seemed to be committed to Adolph back in the day. |
