Each time we lose another poster (we all have our core friend groups) I’m reminded of how things have changed in just 30 years. With the advent of the internet our lives were forever changed – the world became smaller. We were now speaking / posting with people we’d have otherwise never known - they became part of our lives. And, just as in our 3d world when they leave us we feel loss. It feels bad but it’s a good thing because it means they mattered.

I only met Rudi once (many years ago) but we talked quite a few times by phone and a lot via PM. She was a great lady! When you needed an ear, she was there. When you need to be propped up, she was there! When you needed a kick in the rear (lol), she was there. She was a spunky Irish lady that reminded me of another, soon to be 91, spunky Irish lady – I call her mom.

In recent years, Rudi had some health issues so it had been a while since she posted. Over that period of time I found myself thinking about her a lot. More importantly I thought a lot of her – there’s a difference.

Rudi was a classic - she mattered and she will be missed.

So to the stars Rudi!

We will see you on the other side
