Once he has to respond with an actual statement from Kimmel and the actual context, it becomes difficult to defend the action that Carr took. So he just avoids it and regurgitates opinions from influencers.I think it speaks to more policies coming down the pike from this administration and successive governments that are planned to tighten control over the media in anticipation of more policies intended to benefit the ruling class.

There is no cancellation going on other than what's being attempted by the current FCC. The false claim is just part of a long-term strategy of claiming victimhood in order to push their agendas.

Google AI:
Overall share of news influencers
  • A November 2024 Pew Research Center study found that 27% of news influencers identified explicitly as Republican, conservative, or pro-Donald Trump.
  • In contrast, 21% identified as Democratic, liberal, or pro-Kamala Harris.
  • About half of all news influencers in the study did not express a clear political orientation.

Conservative influencers on different platforms
The conservative share of influencers varies significantly depending on the social media platform.
Facebook
  • 39% of news influencers identified as right-leaning.
  • 13% of news influencers identified as left-leaning.

Instagram
  • 30% of news influencers identified as right-leaning.
  • 25% of news influencers identified as left-leaning.

X (formerly Twitter)
  • 28% of news influencers identified as right-leaning.
  • 21% of news influencers identified as left-leaning.

TikTok
  • On this platform, the divide was more even.
  • 28% of news influencers identified as left-leaning.
  • 25% of news influencers identified as right-leaning.

Growth and impact
Conservative influencers, especially young creators, are a growing force, influencing political discussions and voter behavior. Studies published in 2025 noted that:
  • Engagement-driven social media algorithms often promote polarizing, dramatic, and controversial content, which can amplify the reach of political influencers.
  • While some research suggests that political influencers, in general, play only a marginal role in affecting voting decisions, even small percentages can translate to large numbers of voters.
  • The rise of podcasts and streaming, with prominent conservative figures like Ben Shapiro, has significantly increased the reach of right-leaning media, particularly among young audiences.
