Yes, that's a fact! So, too, is the fact that many other geotechnical calamities are due or past due for the Pacific Northwest. Look at the Long Valley volcanic caldera of California and the Yellowstone caldera of Montana, both know as Super Volcanoes. Eruptions at either location will impact the global economy and effectively destroy whole regions of North America, depending upon which way the winds blow on a sustained basis.

No escaping such hazards, so they are not worth losing sleep over.
