Longest complaint I ever saw was 30 pages, and I moved to strike it for violation of Rule 8. Fed judge denied my motion. Two defamation claims shouldn't take more than 5-10 pages, and 10 would be stretching it.

Dismissal with prejudice for a pleading violating that rule would not happen. Sanctions could, but most judges won't haul off and sanction an attorney for something like that. The judge made his view clear, and it would be foolish not to honor his "guidance." But I remain intrigued by the idea that the judge is setting them on a path to minimize appellate issues if he deep sixes the case on motion in the very near future.

Disbarment or discipline for unethical behavior is done at the state level through either the state supreme court or through an underlying entity of the Court devoted to investigating and prosecuting violations of the ethical rules that govern licensees.
