Just a note for others, that your loved one does not need to be on deaths door to get Hospice involved. My
mothers uterine tumor, even though we wouldn't know she had it without a CT scan, and to this day she
doesn't know she has, qualifies her.

The main thing for me is meds. Even though I described moms hallucinations, and how upset she got, her
doctor refused to give me anything like Ativan, something needed in the moment.

Friday afternoon, I sat on the front porch with her. It started with her seeing people in our cars. Even though
I walked out and opened the doors, and then had her do it, as soon as she was back sitting down, the
people were back in the car. Then she saw a woman across the road, which became a man in a hat. By the
time I got my brother on FaceTime there were fourteen people there. Mom started crying and slobbering
because she thought someone had my granddaughter in one of our cars. She commented that she thought
it was my wife, and if it was, she would break her neck.

I cursed my mothers doctor, gave her the last Ativan my brother had brought home, and told the hospice
nurse when she called, to come on down!

Mom has COPD, and sometimes has problems breathing. Her doctor told me there were many hoops to go
through to get oxygen, and then we probably wouldn't get the ok. The Hospice nurse put in an order while
she was here, and she wasn't gone 15 minutes, when I got a call it will be delivered tomorrow.
