They are well capitalized and I think it is possible that homeland security or CDC may at some point tap them on the shoulder for some contracts (sensing bioweapons or contagious diseases). White House has already asked them to report any suspicious developmental works.

But even if that doesn't happen, their goal is to become the foundry for biotech the way that TSM is a foundry for semiconductors. If they can pull it off, then that shark path may well materialize.
