Gantz has been involved with both the government and the military for decades. He hasn't forgotten anything nor have his readers. And a far as an "imbalance of casualties" is concerned--you've got to be kidding. Israelies today are descended from Russian Jews who were persecuted and defenseless against the Czar or the Soviets, German Jews who were murdered and Arabs and Persians who didn't always persecute them as much as the Czars or the Germans until the 1930s and 1940s but they were still considered second class citizens and were kicked out of those countries which had been their home for many centuries and had virtually all of their possessions taken from them.

So yeah, those people fight with ferocity now that they actually have power. We remember things that happened thousands of years ago. For every Jew who is killed, Israelis will kill at least two or three others and most likely many more. Jewish people are very aware of being mostly helpless for many many centuries. The ones who are in Israel won't return violations against them with love. They will return violations with two, three, four times the violence that was inflicted on them. The greater the violence, the greater the violence in return.

That is simply a fact.

Yes, Gantz seems to have forgotten this in the part I quoted, or wants his readers to forget it. Most have an imbalance of casualties, favoring Israel, the last (first to Gantz, apparently) the most disproportionate of all.
