Israel sent commandos into Syria to retrieve the wounded fighters from Jabhat al-Nusra (Al Qaeda in Syria) and bring them to the Ziv Medical Center in the Syrian Golan Heights occupied by Israel. Netanyahu used to visit the fighters for coverage by state television and newspapers. The public's open support of the use of jihadist groups by the government to wage war is indicative of their sanctioning the government to use any means possible to extend Israel's influence in the region and inside the occupied territories.
