I think that was only a rumour.

There is nothing in it for TSM. Why help your competitor?

They are building fabs in America that they can control. They need their engineers there.

The demand side of AI won't last forever. Chips are cyclical why create a strong competitor.

Also given the experience at the Hyundai plant in Georgia I am not sure you are getting any takers.

US reputation at all time low internationally.
