This is a really good presentation by Heather Cox Richardson on why this battle to fund the government is a BFD.

The Cliff notes are that it would throw many off the ACA, and raise health insurance premiums, but she also points out how Trump is trying to gut government and take us back to the 1920's before the New Deal
