Bill, if IBM approved the Zip you can be sure that they fully understand the COD problem. I'm sure that IBM fully tested the drive, but also met with IOM's engineers and conducted a CDR (Crictical Design Review). In spite of what many people may believe, IBM is not a fool and is still a class act.

I spent my career in the computer field and participated in many OEM qualification programs. Further, you can be assured that IBM evaluated the business stability of IOM, their manufacturing processes, and their Quality Control procedures. I could go on and on, however, the point I'm making is that IBM evaluated IOM with a microscope.

This IBM/IOM deal is good news. The thing that IOM needs to do is "woo" the Wall Street Analysts, show earnings and revenue growth, etc, etc.

PS: Do you known if IBM uses the Zip in PC's that are sold in the U.S.?
