Brian,
I hope you can get $2 for them because then I may be forced to sell mine too. Though I hope that greed doesn't get the better of me. With respect to your 22.5 puts----if, as you said, this straddle will only be profitable if the stock goes below 22.5, I'm not so sure this is a good idea. Unless there is a big run up between today and tomorrow, I don't expect the stock to drop significantly after the announcement. The only reason I am concerned about these options in the short term is that I recently read a very good article on the street.com concerning option's volatility based on anticipated events. Which would lead me to believe that even if the stock stays where it is, these calls will be worth less after the announcement. Anyway, I would wait to see what happens and buy the puts close to the end of tomorrow if a run up does occur and if not, just forget them. This is great..now I'm telling you how to do a straddle! And it was just last night that I was forced to dust off MacMillan's options tome to figure out what a straddle was. BTW, if this doesn't work out don't blame me. I was only trying to be helpful when I suggested this in the first place......
