You can tell us what you think about Prime Minister Mark Carney’s plan for the bureaucracy.

Carney recently stated that any reduction to the size of the federal bureaucracy will “happen naturally through attrition.”

Here are some facts about the federal bureaucracy:

The federal government added 98,986 employees since 2016, according to the Treasury Board.

The federal bureaucracy cost taxpayers like you $71.1 billion last year, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer. The bureaucracy cost $40.2 billion in 2016.

That means the cost of the federal bureaucracy increased 77 per cent since 2016.

Do you think waiting for bureaucrats to retire and solve the problem through attrition is enough?

Your insight is important right now because the government is releasing its budget on Nov. 4. You can let us know what you think about the bureaucracy by taking the one-question survey below.

What do you think? Is attrition enough or should Carney actually shrink the bureaucracy? Click your answer below.

Attrition is enough
Shrink the bureaucracy NOW

The federal budget is right around the corner. By letting us know what you think of the federal bureaucracy you’re giving us the insight we need to get your message to politicians, bureaucrats and the media before the government tables its budget this fall.

THANK YOU for taking time to answer the one-question survey.

All the best,
