In the Islamic world, you did not need the unwashed masses to be educated in political economy to have uprisings and militant Islam. It was sufficient for a relatively few fire breathing clerics and their acolytes to fan the flames in their sermons and tell the ignorant masses they did well a 1000 years ago because they followed Islam and they failed when they strayed and looked to the west.

In principle this is exactly what the MAGA leaders are doing. They play the same fundament vibes of returning to the roots to be great, knowing well that the process destroys the establishment and rewards them well.
