Right now, the people in power are turning hate towards "others." However, I suspect this movement could be blunted by turning that hate towards AI and robots. I'm not talking Luddites, but if a 2028 candidate comes up with a workable Universal Basic Income platform, it could be something that pivots the masses. It would need to be funded by taxes on algo's and robots, but it could be done. However, I suspect that any attempt at doing so would just be unfunded and lead to more deficit spending. That's the only thing I see that has the potential to tilt the discussion away from fear mongering "others."
