FWIW I saw nothing political about SQ's initial response to the request for comments on the MarketWatch article. Saying the government is moving in a direction which may prove to be a negative for the economy is not political IMO. It's a discussion of an economic factor which may - or may not - have an impact. He didn't name a party or an individual and the time frame he mentioned covered periods when each major US political party has been in power.

IMO it was only political if we're never allowed to mention anything the government may do and how it may impact the economy and/or investing.

Maybe there was something in the subsequent back and forth but I pretty much glossed over that.

Anyway, I respect SQ's requesting a "forced timeout" :). But I saw nothing wrong in that original comment.
