They're still blowing the tops off mountains in Appalachia to the distress and disgust of local residents.
The jobs are long gone. Now its explosives and big bulldozers. Obama did improve the reclamation a bit.
But it still is a dirty toxic mess. Some of those companies have deeds to mine that go back decades.
There are fewer mining companies now, but the market is still there.
