I had that happen when I was in 7th grade. I was tipping in a chair and fell back and slammed my head on floor tile.

I went blind for about an hour, and then I started to get very slim tunnel vision that came back little by little.

That was the most scared I've been in my life. When my vision went dark, it was like I was in a room where the light was just turned off, and it was pitch black. In that moment, I thought I'd just become blind for life.

By the time I got to the hospital, about half of my vision came back. Even at that point, my vision was like a narrow road bordered by two black walls that were wiggling. However, I was still not seeing 100% for several months after that.

My wife and I were talking about concussions last night. We have grand nephews who play tackle football at age 6, which I think is nuts. The Manning brothers won't let their kids play anything but touch football until high school due to safety concerns.

Anyway, we were talking about Gladiator Daughter and her 7 concussions. We were fortunate that she was referred to a concussion clinic at one point, where the Doc assuaged my fears of permanent damage. He said it's the thousands of sub-concussive blows that do the long-term damage, not the few big concussions.

I hope you continue to get through that brain fog. That's not fun.
