Yes they are. I don't remember when I got started in CEF investing, but I do know that my first CEF was UTG. There used to be someone on SA (I forget their name or handle) that tracked and posted a spreadsheet of CEFs every month with all sorts of data, including the number of years a CEF has paid distribution without a cut. I used that list to build me a basket of 10 or so CEFs. Those are the CEFs I mostly stick with (rotate in/out).

It helps to have folks like jritz0 and others who can guide us through CEFs and all the rights drama that comes with it. What I don't want is a super high yield with a risk of distribution cut as that would be painful and difficult to replace. THQ/THW comes to mind, I got out of them and sleep better with rest of my CEFs.
