RE: Occidental Petroleum Corp (OXY)

Interesting move for Berkshire. Then again I suppose it makes sense given this from OXY 10-K:

"Occidental has, from time to time, contracted with Berkshire Hathaway for the provision of electricity, rail and insurance. In addition, certain Berkshire Hathaway subsidiaries purchase various chemicals from OxyChem."

I suppose why not buy it up. Just helps their own little Berkshire ecosystem since OXY can use the cash proceeds to deleverage even more and Berk can continue to scoop up the OxyChem cash flows and then sell to their own companies. Berk wins either way!

Will be curious to see how much debt OXY takes out from this. Also curious what impact to OXY cash flows this has over time?

Happy investing,

Sean
