Are LULU yoga pants fashionable or is it yoga pants in general?
This is where I've always hesitated because I don't think LULU are like the Nike of sneakers.

Imo, LULU has won because people are more inclined to go to the gym/yoga/pilates imo. A beneficiary of secular growth in their industry.

It's like concentrated investing - buy yoga, specifically, or buy leisure in general (Nike, Adidas etc)? So LULU won the last 5 years, but I'd not want to take that bet for the next 5. I'd take the bet if yoga was distressed - but I've never seen it more popular.*

most Lululemon pants that I see now have that bell-bottom design.

As for this, red flag. I've seen many brands try to catch trends and end up hurting their brand in the long-run. Vans did it not that long ago... LULU are a yoga brand, just like Vans are a skater brand. Maybe I'm too cynical lol.

(*Read an article in The Times saying students are more likely to go to spend money on a gym membership instead of going clubbing. I think it's true. But does that trend reverse? Idk. But if it continues and youve got a generation hooked on healthy living, LULU's a winner.)

I tend to buy cyclicals at high/unprofitable PEs and low EV/Sales. So I'm a fan of UAA and VFC at the moment and I don't think either can get much more "less cool." LULU, otoh, is as popular as I've seen it - both irl and on fintwit.
