That's quite the triumvirate, congratulations. Forget if ever read that book so guessing not but am familiar with the story of the ship and its rediscovery on the bottom of the sea, etc.

The best academic book I've ever read on gold, the name escapes me have to look up but think it was a professor from Berkeley. Used to have the original book on PDF but the keeper I own and read was the updated version from the early 2000s including since the period Nixon took America off the gold standard for international trade settlement. His study went back at least 500 years when gold was money or on a standard for many nations/kingdoms, etc.

There's strong evidence going back over 1000 years that rich new discoveries of gold when concentrated in a particular region after refining can actually destabilize an economy. This is one fair argument that led to the decline of the Spanish Empire but likely not the only reason. :-)
