IB has a lot of pro features in it, including dark orders, "smart" execution on market orders, etc.

But my point is that I've decided I don't want to be execution dependent.

Take the CNC position that I wrote about. I missed it by a full $0.50. If I was buying options instead of the stock, then it would have made a world of difference. But as it stands, I made 38% despite my poor execution.

I used to trade by being focused on a handful or items and swing 6 figure positions per derivative trade which meant the underlying was anywhere from high 6 figures to mid 7 figure position. But I routinely lost more than half of my potential profits to poor execution and in choppy markets it was a lot worse. Whipsaws got magnified too.

The frustration just wasn't worth it. Now I don't play huge position with a handful of derivatives. Instead of I have portfolio and a system that lets me sleep at night and not get too upset during the days.
