Good News for PRLN?
Hello all,
I came across this in the Wall Street Journal, under the Technology & Health section, Monday, October 7, 1996. Following is the beginning of the article. You'll see why it caught my eye. It seems like this could have an impact on PRLN as AndroVir and AndroCar are both considered based on "Chinese herbology." I assume that this "network" could include coverage for yet to be seen Paracelsian products? Hmmm...
"Oxford to Create Alternative-Medicine Network
NEW YORK - Alternative health treatments such as acupuncture and massage therapy are about to get an enormous boost from one of the nation's largest and most influential managed-care plans.
Oxford Health Plans Inc. of Norwalk, Conn., a health-maintenance organization with projected annualized revenue of approximately $3 billion, is expected to unveil tomorrow its first provider network for such alternative medical therapies as natural-remedy or "naturopathic" medicine and Chinese herbology. The big HMO plan is establishing a network of 1,000 holistic providers to mirror its existing network of 33,000 traditional doctors..."
If you can, you should check out the whole article if you haven't already. It's interesting to see how the majority of the market and the public views this type of medicine. I've always been worried that Paracelsian's products wouldn't be taken seriously, although it seems as though they are taking the steps necessary to actually PROVE that these treatments DO WORK, even for those doctors and patients with the most traditional views.
Well, I guess that still leaves us(open) and them(traditional) waiting to hear the results, doesn't it? Ah well, things to do while we wait for Paracelsian. *grin* Long on PRLN!!
