He literally saw, as many of did, the Biden/Harris campaign as an existential threat to the country. We all saw Biden's collapse, and we all saw Harris' gross incompetence. Both Biden and Harris were grossly incompetent. He literally had no choice, like so many of us who understood what was happening.
I understand a lot of people don't like Trump personally, but as a matter of competence it is plain that we are better off today for having elected him version either of the other two. But more importantly, because the American People did not fall for the efforts of the Democratic party to undermine the presidential election for a second four year period.
If you're going to attack Musk for standing up against that, then somehow blame the business which literally started (and funded) the only legitimate campaign to significantly reduce world CO2 emissions, then how is it that you haven't lost sight of your mission?
I've never had the concerns the CO2 so many others have. While it could prove to be a long-term threat, it seems clear to me that Musk's actions have effectively eliminated what was any threat. But reality is the threat was never so alarming as many believed it was in the first place. But while so many of us believed it would never materialize at scale, Tesla began the movement that would ultimately mitigate most of the threat.
I'm pretty old but I think it is very possible my generation will live to see the trend of slightly increasing atmospheric carbon to turn down and head the other way. This could happen around 2030-2035 if Musk's mission is supported.
Musk is responsible personally for having credibly started the EV industry and the Battery Electric Storage industry. No one was anywhere on moving these concepts to scale. It required vision and extremes of breadth in technical competence in many fields to have done it -- something only a true polymath could have accomplished. And an exceptional understanding of micro- and macro- economics. Starting this world-wide revolution is something that can only be credited to Musk.
So, I cut him some slack when it comes to eccentricity and I absolutely couldn't care less how he votes. |
