Yes, MediaTek is the supplier of the system-on-chip (SoC) for the Philips OLED+950. The TV uses the MediaTek Pentonic 1000, a 7nm chip that powers its smart TV functions and supports advanced video processing.

Breakdown:
  • MediaTek Pentonic 1000 (MT9972 / MT5896) is confirmed as the SoC in the OLED+950.
  • It handles Google TV, HDMI 2.1 features, AV1/VVC decoding, and high refresh rates (up to 144Hz).
  • The P5 AI Gen9 Dual Engine is Philips’ proprietary image processor, developed by TP Vision’s team in Ghent, and runs alongside the MediaTek SoC.
So while MediaTek provides the core SoC, the P5 engine is layered on top as a specialized image enhancement module. Let me know if you want to explore how the P5 pipeline interacts with MediaTek’s hardware or compare it to Sony’s XR processor stack.

I tried Samsung's best OLED TV next to Sony, LG and Philips –the results were surprising

PS
Me?
TV brutally competitive.
EUV Chip + pixel/bit intense AMOLED or microLED TV coming soon to Livingroom and Bedroom near you...in monster size.

BTW,...
In high end TV, OLED usually means pixel/bit intense AMOLED.
Been the case every time I checked with Copilot.
