DC police arrest man outside church where U.S. Supreme Court justices planned to attend Mass

WASHINGTON ( NewsNation) — DC police have arrested a New Jersey man outside of a church where U.S. Supreme Court justices and other public figures were set to attend the annual Red Mass.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers who were assigned to security detail for Red Mass approached the man, who had a tent set up on the steps of St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Officers determined that the man was previously barred from being at the church and was arrested after refusing to leave.

The suspect was later identified by police as Louis Geri, 41, of Vineland, New Jersey. Geri is facing preliminary charges of unlawful entry, threats to kidnap or injure a person, and possession of a Molotov cocktail.
