Trump’s America First agenda pre-dates Project 2025, a think tank document which was loosely modeled on Trump’s agenda. Here’s a summary of Project 2025 initiatives that diverge from Trump’s America First agenda:
• Government Overhaul: Project 2025 pushes for total presidential control over federal agencies (e.g., DOJ, FBI, NOAA) and firing ~50,000 employees by ending civil service protections. Trump wants to fire “disloyal” workers but hasn’t endorsed this full-scale restructuring.

• Education: Calls for abolishing the Department of Education and banning gender identity/critical race theory in schools. Trump supports school choice and cutting federal overreach but not eliminating the department.

• Social Welfare: Adds strict work requirements for SNAP (affecting 40 million) and partial privatization of Medicare/Social Security. Trump focuses on cutting waste, not broad program changes.

• Environment: Proposes eliminating NOAA and making EPA non-independent. Trump pushes fossil fuel deregulation but hasn’t targeted agency abolition.
