People need to realize that Trump does not believe in free trade, he thinks it weakens us, when the opposite is true.
He pulled us out of the CPTP trade alliance just three days into his presidency.
And then started a huge trade war with the world, putting a minimum 10% tariff on everyone, which put us at each others throats.
The world hates us for what Trump is doing with his tariff extortion and bullying, and are now boycotting our exports, and our tourists, seeing us as the "ugly American"-again.
The modern world spent 80 years working on free trade and Trump blew that up in a couple of months.
This has isolated the US economically, and with regard to many other alliances important to us like the new arctic alliance between the UK, Canada, New Zeland and Australia, the expanding CPTP, conflict with the EU, and new defense alliances like Canada, and the Nordic countries recently announced.
So while Trump isolates us and puts a huge tax on our industry and consumers, making them uncompetitive, like exporting soy beans, corn and wheat, Carney is going around the world, in a whirlwind effort to sign new free trade agreements which is causing one country after another to quit the US for Canada.
This has been especially true with countries like Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and even China, and the entire continent of Africa!.
Countries are quitting the US en masse and going to Canada which believes in free trade and offers both stability, fairness, and higher quality products and easier trade regulations, like agriculture that has systems set up to monitor grain exports for things like pesticides, and auto parts.
And the headline news is, as China, Canada and others spreads their influence around the world the US is being left out, and actually boycotted.
So while the entire world sets up new trade alliances, the US is left out, and that is acting as ad hoc sanctions for things we need like rare earths.
