D. Albo has a well-reasoned article regarding the CEF AOD. What I like to do if I'm replacing a certain yield is to buy something with a higher yield and either keep the rest in cash or look for growth. AOD yields 12+%, you would only need half the proceeds from VZ to replace the income.
