Ciena Corp. (Linthicum, MD) further
consolidated its position in the WDM
market by releasing the MultiWave
4000, a 40-channel long haul WDM
product, and the MultiWave Firefly, a
dense WDM product developed
specifically for use by carriers in short
haul, point-to-point applications. The
MultiWave Firefly multiplexes up to
24 channels at 2.5 Gbit/s over a single
fiber pair for a total capacity of 60
Gbit/s.
