Paul- I unfortunately misclassified AAPL as a cyclical stock at the time and sold the entire position. I thought it was a one product fad when I sold. I have done this with semiconductors thinking they were cyclical businesses (you probably could guess which one) and of course it was again a wrong move.

At the time I bought AAPL it had no debt $16 in net cash and it was $20 at the time in the early 2000s so it didn't seem like a big risk at the time.

I have taken this approach to investing because I am only accountable to myself which is also a factor in formulating a selling discipline

One comment for the younger participants 30 years ago companies had greater upside potential for the investor. There wasn't any private equity taking a significant chunk of the upside.
