That's been guiding principle for my investment strategy for the entire market for decades. In 2023 I was about 80% +/- in treasuries but have since distributed into tech stocks, utilities, dividend stocks and now some Muni CEFs.

Stability is a relative term. Many decades ago(5) I was a pool hustler...not so stable wrt income.
