My portfolio had one of its best ever days yesterday, up over 7% in value. Of course, this is meaningless today because I didn't sell everything at market close. That's one reason I don't pay much attention to day to day movements, except as a curiosity. What matters is what the value of my portfolio will be in a year, in two years, in five years. That's why I reduce stress by paying little attention to short term changes in the value of my portfolio. (OTOH, day to day changes can be very meaningful for individual stocks, but that is a different kettle of fish.) LC
