My guess (and this is just a guess) is that the administration and the Rs/Mike Johnson aren't just protecting donnie by withholding the Epstein files. They are protecting multiple large donors to the party, IOW the people who are actually controlling things, not so much donnie who is the consummate front man although he has evidently learned some very effective extortion methods that big corporations haven't yet figured out how to get rid of. It is at least possible that the Silicon Valley "free thinking" libertarians engaged some wild sexual experimentation in the 90s-00s and are now embarrassed by it or simply afraid that their dalliances will lead to widespread condemnation and/or possible charges against them. Or, perhaps worse to them, divorces that would cost them a good chunk of their billions. That said, I still don't understand why the women who are clamoring to have the files opened don't just reveal the names of the johns who raped them themselves. That doesn't really make sense to me. Especially if they get organized and reveal names collectively.
