Here is some interesting data. I wasn't aware that gold outperformed the DJIA slightly over the past 30 years. Maybe that is without dividends reinvested.

I found a good chart of it here

My guess is it doesn't include dividends as Google AI said stocks did better, but that AI also used the S&P500 which had Nvidia much longer.
