I believe 80% of all goods shipped world wide went through British Ports on British made ships at one point.

Burrell stands out as someone who did well during the period. He reportedly helped out Randolph Hearst when he was stuck for cash in the Depression years.

Not saying such a concentration of wealth is a good thing. It needs to be spread out a bit, but without everyone becoming godless commies in the process. (imho)

Some sort of regulated free enterprise sounds about right.
