HOLLYWOOD, CA, November 21, 1997. Advanced Encryption Technology (AETI) was the featured company on the taping of a segment of Morton Downey Jr's syndicated television series "Invest America", here today.
Downey interviewed Gerald Diakow, Vice President, Sales and Marketing for AETI. Mr. Diakow discussed the market for data security, specifically the company's encryption products, and pointed out that the Yankee Group predicted that this market would reach $5 Billion worldwide by the year 2000.
Mr. Diakow then described AETI's Access Denied suite of data encryption products for securing sensitive information on desktop and notebook computers, as well as servers. The Access Denied system encrypts portions of the computer's hard disk drive as well as external storage media such as floppy diskettes and zip drives. The system encrypts directories, sub-directories and files transparently to the user, by simply dragging to the Access Denied icon on the computer screen.
When Downey asked about the uniqueness of the product, Diakow pointed out that Access Denied is the only product on the market which provies that very important second level of security by implementing the password and encryption key management functions on leading-edge smartcard technology. For example, when the Access Denied Smartcard is installed, critical information may be encrypted and decrypted transparently. However, when the Smartcard is removed, all cryptographic functions are disabled, making unauthorized access to encrypted data impossible.
