Bill, this is a very good read. (Don't mind the fact that it's from CNN. The article seems "fair and balanced" to me.)

How Trump willed ‘phase one’ of a Gaza ceasefire deal across the finish line (CNN)

Some key takeaways:

- A key turning point was Israel's strike in Qatar, which actually failed to kill any Hamas leadership. It managed to piss off every Arab nation as well as Trump himself, who (surprisingly) was unaware of the attack beforehand. I think it was at that point that Bibi realized he fukked up.

- The party that was most resistant to the developing peace plan was not Hamas, but rather Netanyahu. In my view, Trump kind of conned Netanyahu into agreeing with the plan. Then Trump ran away with it before Netanyahu could change his mind.

- Trump also brazenly pushed ahead and got the Arab leaders to also agree to the plan, even though he altered the plan after Trump got their verbal agreements.

Overall, the report confirms to me that Trump did Trump things in order to force through a peace plan that everyone was clamoring for.

And I must say, in this particular case it worked brilliantly. The biggest loser might be Netanyahu, but Trump is confident that he did Netanyahu a favor.
