IMO it's hard right now to predict what defense systems are going to be most profitable going forward. For me I decided to not try to pick winners with advancements in robotics, automated systems and AI and go with funds. Fund managers are paid to know that sort of stuff.

Normally when I have a choice between funds and individual stocks I choose the stocks. Figure if I pick right I'll probably have better returns that way. But defense is an exception, at least for the near term.
