Bob, not sure what you are plotting there for your prediction, something of your own? You do show an interesting top early 2027, which is on my radar as well.

Jmo but the Sox has some very distinct and interesting 'Hurst' cycle patterns in play. They seem easier to discern on this index relative to some of the others.

  • I have the early 2020 low as a 4.5 yr low, relative to the 2009 low. The next 4.5 low is early 2027, I am showing a possible low in Oct 2027.
  • Most cycle anals do not spend a lot of time on top to top, bottom to top. or top to bottom cycles. I spend a bit, mostly mentally. It is quite variable and unpredictable, especially shorter term.
  • The early 2020 bottom to next top was a near exact 21 months.
  • The Oct 2022 bottom to next top was a near exact 21 months.
  • The 2022 top to next bottom was a near exact 9 months.
  • The 2024 top to next bottom was a near exact 9 months.
  • The resulting loops are then 2.5 yr, top to top, bottom to bottom.
  • If these patterns continue, and my expectation is they ~ will for a spell yet, the next major top is early 2027. This is very close to 27 years (3 X 9) post the 2000 top.
  • And so on. The end of this (iii) of 3 per my labeling would be projected to occur ~ 1st half of 2029. But the market will decide that.
