The purification process is multi levels. In the initial flotation process the ground up graphite is separated from other impurities and the house rock. I am not a geologist, but it’s possible that other credits may exist at this stage, including elements that are not found at the final stage.
When the graphite is liberated from its host. We still have other rock and minerals left behind that could have value
