Well, the metals are climbing pretty much how I saw them in my mind's eye, and we seem on the edge of a depression I was worried about as well.

I couldn't see any respite, or stability, because I could not seen any sanity, or intelligent honest behavior as long as Trump is president.

And it looks like it will take a depression to wake the MAGA folks up.

And a depression seems in the works.

Trump started this huge trade war thinking he could bully the world with his tariffs, and now the world is hitting back, and the world is winning. And the tariffs are not only destroying our economy as the consumer is paying 86% of the tariffs, they have made the world hate us, and abandon us.

Trump thought he could bully China, indeed the world, with his broad brush tariffs, and walked right up and smacked China in the mouth with his 130% tariffs, and now they are retaliating and beating the hell out of him and us with a strategic response i.e limiting rare earths, a huge maritime docking tax, de-dollarization and crashing our bond market, etc.

I am torn between my worry about a depression, which seems likely, and the idea it is the only way to wake up the Trump supporters e.g. the farmers got hit hard last time, and then turned around and voted for him again at near 80%. And now are crying because they are being devastated.

It took a great depression to get rid of Hoover, and the Republican autocrats in 1932.

The tariffs, the American consumer is paying 86% of, and that Trump has lied about over and over that the foreign countries are paying are stoking inflation and destroying our economy, just like they did in the 1930's! We were warned and Trump brushed it off.

We have no allies left as Trump as made enemies of all of them, even our closest allies like the EU, Canada, Japan and South Korea!

So what is worse, a depression, or four more years of Trump?

I would argue four more years of Trump, as he may well get us into a war with China, or Russia, or both!

Trump is a very stupid man, who is also dying, and angry at the world. He seems intent on burning this country down, and may not have any limits as to how he does it!

We can survive a depression, we have plenty of food, but I am not so sure about four years of Trump?
