Which thing? Lights out or the big boom? Knowing that lights out would throw a wrench in it, they're definitely accelerating the control grid. And there's AI accelerating the dumbing down of a whole generation. The bulk of the fittest survivors of the big boom will likely come from that generation...already stupid and trained for obedience.
