There used to be mostly consensus on what is happening on the front, at least who is controlling territories. Sure, Ukraine are late admitting to their losses but things eventually converge.

That changed since the time of the Alaska summit, where Ukraine is reporting some fantasy gains, just for PR purposes. They tried to turn an embarrassing loss (the breakthrough NW of Pokrovsk) as a victory, that the Russian units who succeeded in the breakthrough are surrounded.

None of that happened.

You can see the difference between the retardation sphere - well represented by Denys Davidov and "david d" in the tweet and reality, shown by more neutral mappers, such as AMD Mapping.

"8 encirclements" that never happened.

Everything from battlefront is grim for Ukraine. Being stuck in kill zones, not evacuating fast enough, desperate measures to hold on to terirtorries for just days longer at expense of veteran troops brought in as reinforcement. And weakening the lines the reinforcements were transferred from.

That's why they are now turning to an alternate, fantasy war reporting were the war is not as grim.
