My wife now works with sex workers. Her organization attempts to transition them to non-sex work and a different life. This weekend she encountered a unique situation. One of the people she's been working with decided to return to "the life." Her situation was unique in that she could earn up to $20k in a single night. She also came from a family in the business, including her dad, who was her pimp. Her sisters and mom were also involved in the business. Even my wife's boss said she understood why this person returned to this business, as she was an outlier financially. It's just a reality we've not been well acquainted with, but we're learning. The big positive thing my wife's taken away from this is she's not been hustled in over 6-weeks on the job, which is something considering the client base she's been working with.
