CEF premiums

For people who don't think premiums matter when buying or selling CEFs, have a look at AGD. D. Albo put out an article on Oct 7 comparing basically the same funds, AGD and AOD. AGD was trading at a 19% premium when the article came out, a week later it is trading at a 3.55% discount.

Maybe that doesn't bother folks who are only in it for the income but I don't want to see 22% of my capital vanish in a week. CEFs give many arbitrage opportunities throughout the year.

For what it's worth he bought a little AGD yesterday because of a little higher volatility due to its size.
