LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1998--Justice Technology Corp. (www.justicecorp.com), one of the world's largest discount telecom carriers, has announced that it will begin rolling out comprehensive Internet Telephony services worldwide, starting with Korea, Japan and Taiwan on April 1, 1998. Justice plans to offer its new Justice Internet service to companies and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) interested in enjoying savings of up to 80 percent on international calls.

Companies Save Money

Justice Internet comes to market at a time when many international companies, particularly in Asia, are looking to cut costs across the board. International telephony services (voice, fax and data) are generally regarded as one of the highest costs for companies in many countries. By sending calls over the Justice Internet network, companies can enjoy significant savings with minimal investment and no disruption in their normal service. For corporate customers, the Justice service removes much of the uncertainty surrounding Internet telephony, including packet loss, call delay and bandwidth constraints. By marrying the economy of the Internet with one of the most sophisticated international call discount operations, customers get the best of both worlds.

ISPs Make Money

Justice Technology is also offering a one-stop shop for ISPs wanting to launch telecom services. Many countries now allow ISPs to offer voice service over data networks. Now, with Justice Internet, ISPs can leverage their modem banks and dedicated Internet access to provide their customers the ability to call over the Internet. "This relieves ISPs of the termination issues associated with entering the international telecom market since Justice gives them a global telephone connection," said Alan Sandler, vice president International Sales of Justice Technology. "It also alleviates the need for ISPs to install sophisticated customer authentication and billing systems as these functions take place once the caller is connected to the Justice gateway." In countries with limited Internet connections to the United States, fax over the Internet is still a viable alternative to using the PSTN. For example, 60 percent of all international calls originating in Argentina are fax calls!
. As fax calls tend to be longer and more expensive than voice calls, Justice Internet can provide strong savings to its Argentinian customers. "Internet limitations are not Justice Internet limitations," said Sandler. Justice Internet is the result of Justice's aggressive development and continued success. Since 1993, Justice has grown more than 29,000 percent, earning distinction as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. Justice also received the No.-1 rating in Callback Service in 1997 and 1998 by the International Telecommunications Association. Justice has emerged as a leader in customized termination services since the early 1990s. From callback and call-through to calling cards and private lines, Justice has become an expert at terminating traffic for partners, subsidiaries and resellers with an existing customer base. Justice's speciality has been its expediency and ability to customize. The approach has paid big dividends to date, propelli!
ng Justice from its origins as a callback start-up to its current status as one of the world's premier alternative carriers. As well as its Los Angeles headquarters, Justice Technology also operates hubs in Belgium and Chile, and has points of presence in 50 cities/countries, making it one the world's strongest alternative carriers.

Justice Internet Backgrounder

Justice Internet (www.justicecorp.com) is a hybrid Internet/ callback service that leverages the free distribution of data over the public Internet with the power of the Justice Worldwide Network. Using the Nortel MICOM Phone/Fax IP Gateway, companies and ISPs can send voice calls as IP packets over the Internet to Justice Internet gateways in Los Angeles; Santiago, Chile; or Antwerp, Belgium. Justice will then bill, authenticate and terminate the voice or fax call over its proprietary network, which services more than 180 countries on five continents. Call costs are reduced because international calls are terminated using U.S.-based networks. Much like the principle behind callback, international customers essentially pay U.S. rates, the lowest in the world, to call the rest of the world. The Internet portions of the calls travel over the most robust data networks in these countries, the lines between the country and the United States. Leon Richter, vice president Business!
Development, Justice, pointed out that because of the current state of infrastructure development, more than 90 percent of worldwide Internet connections make landfall in the United States even though the two connection points may even be in neighboring countries. This hybrid system utilizes the power of Internet telephony while minimizing its risks. Many Justice competitors now use an end-to-end Internet solution. While this approach might have fewer costs, it exacerbates the known problems of Internet telephony, including packet loss, delay, hung calls, and bandwidth constraints. The Justice solution employs the strongest, most-robust section of the Internet backbone, while using its low-cost switched network to complete the call. This approach reduces risk, while keeping many of the benefits of Internet telephony. For any questions regarding this backgrounder, Justice Internet or Justice Technology Corp., contact Aneesh K.
